The day started and ended well. The weather in the south was nice, but as I moved northeast, it got more sketchy. I had a chance to go due-north, but thought better to ask. A guy at True Value suggested a route with better maintained roads. Ya don’t have to tell me twice. Good thing

Durango, Cascade Creek and Silverton
Went out in Durango last night and had a decent meal and listened to some live music. The guy was funny. Colorado has draconian mask laws which are only an outward symptom of the insanity. It’s just as bad, if not worse, than California. If for no other reason than that people don’t question it.
Mesa Verde, Tahoe-weather style
It was sooooo cold this am. My Florida-bound, pink toenails are hidden in Uggs. That ain’t right. It was icy and snowy on arrival to Mesa Verde. But bundling up was SO worth it. Baptized in the Holy Spirit, Thelma and Louise Style…

Thank you to friends Mary, Kris, and her daughters Bekah and Sarah, who joined as witnesses and in
A Drive to Prescott
Had a great start driving through Nevada. Felt pretty darn free-spirited. The stuff packed into the car well, but I knew I’d be losing crap left and right cuz I always do on the first leg of any trip. People think traveling “light” is easy. But it requires an incredible amount of organization. This is
On the Road!
First stop: Vegas. Really? Yup. Not JUST Vegas, but Trump International Hotel. It all happened quite innocently. I use the app Hotels Tonight to get last minute deals. I got a GREAT deal. So, I thought, “What the hey?” One great thing about the Trump Hotel is that there’s no casino and no smoke. It’s
