Drove east, back to the ocean!
YAY!
The drive is VERY rural and there’s one part that’s really pretty. The natural jungle thickness in Florida is amazing to me.
And Pink Floyd always works for a road trip.
I got to Juno Beach and checked into the hotel that my friend Candy recommended. It’s just a 2-minute walk to the beach.
The hotel has so many geckos running around. Many of them have no tails. I’m sure that’s because they get stepped on so much! I’m glad I didn’t squash one underfoot. Ick.
My friends Candy and Coni live in the North Palm Beach area. I have “known” them since April from our daily Hope Call. They are precious to me and we have all been so excited to finally meet in person.
Candy/Leo, Coni/Doug and I met at the Square Grouper to finally sit together!
The term “square grouper” was a nickname given to bales of marijuana thrown overboard or out of airplanes in South Florida in the 1970s and 1980s. ??
On Saturday, we went to the park for lunch and then to the beach.
The shells were so plentiful that the waves tossed them against our ankles. But it was fantastic.
Saturday evening, dinner at Coni’s. This is the view from Candy’s balcony on the 19th floor. Coni lives just one floor up. That’s the intercostal waterway.
A barrier island and the beautiful ocean.
The next day, we took a walk around the docks. These yachts are AMAZING. The last one is “Privacy”, Tiger Woods’ yacht.
We can see it from Candy’s balcony.
Sunday, we had church in the living room via livestream and it was a glorious morning.
After a really fun day, I went back to my hotel and then out to the beach for some time with God and the ocean. I didn’t see one person on the beach in the two hours I was out there. It was incredible. I love the ocean. And I love Jesus.
Looks so great! Love the sand cross you made!
Beautiful
