The Gulf Coast-Fort Myers

A journey west to the “gulf coast”…Gulf of Mexico. The beaches are WHITE SAND. But, no waves. The water laps at the shore like a big lake. This is my view lying on the beach. You can get to fluffy sand if you stay back, but closer to the water, it’s kinda like lying on a parking lot. HA HA!
I didn’t have a chair so my vantage point.

It was simply beautiful in the evening.

The pelicans were FEASTING in the evening. Check out the video.

Look at these fighter bombers!

This was a cool hotel along the way. Everything down here is painted with these fun colors. This isn’t where I stayed. It looks loud. 🙂

My hotel was really nice, a couple blocks off the beach. The housekeeping staff twisted almost every towel into towel art. It got a little ridiculous.

Fort Myers is nice. I can see why my Dad doesn’t drive down here regularly though. It’s a bit of a haul and there’s only one bridge in, although the traffic control is brilliant. When I went, it wasn’t crowded. But I could see during the busy season that it would be a hassle.

Next stop: Naples, Florida.
